Description: Breath Weapon is the ability to breath on someone and do damage (as opposed to those with bad breath who just offend people).
Who Can Learn It: Only races with breath weapons can learn this skill. This includes Drag-Al and later-stage Dragons.
What It is Supposed to Do: Allow you to breath-attack others with more accuracy, as well as do more damage.
What it Does: Allows you to breath-attack others with more accuracy. Damage, however, is extremely low. As a "natural weapon" skill, each level of Breath Attack provides increases in OR and DR when unarmed. Breath Weapon does not appear to be fully implemented at this time.
Activation: BREATH (BREATH FIRE AT [Target]).
Usefulness (Low Levels): Low. Breathing fire takes a long time, does little damage, and provides very little in the way of DR.
Usefulness (Mid-Levels): Low. The delay for breathing fire has been decreased some, but damage is still very low.
Usefulness (High Levels): Low. The delay continues to drop, and damage is at the point where you can actually kill something if you try long enough. The amount of experience needed for this level, though, is not justified by the bonuses received. You would have been far better served putting your time into Clawing and Biting, not to mention able to do more damage.
How to Practice: BREATH FIRE at someone or something. Breath Weapon is practiced like any other weapon skill.
Interesting Facts: The delay for Breath Weapon starts at 9 seconds and goes down by 1 second every 6th level.
Unconfirmed
Rumors (May or May Not Be True): Breath Weapon is the least
effective of the "Natural Attack" skills. The developers have said that
they will look into increasing damage, but the Spurian Drag-als aren't
holding their breath that this will happen any time soon.
