Description: Berserk Attack represents the ability to go into a state of semi-controlled chaotic rage. Said state allows the berserker to cause more destruction in melee combat.
Who Can Learn It: Only barbarians can learn Berserk.
What It is Supposed to Do: Allow you to go into a berserk frenzy that makes killing your opponents easier.
What it Does: Berserk Attack sends barbarians into a frenzy at certain times, usually when they have been injured. While in this frenzy, a barbarian's OR increases, their DR decreases, and they get multiple swings. Damage may also go up. Once the berserk is over (usually after combat is done and the barbarian has healed), the barbarian will suddenly find himself/herself additionally fatigued. Berserk Attacks seems about 80% implemented at this time.
Activation: Automatic. As well, BERSERK START may increase the chance of berserking, while BERSERK STOP attempts to pull someone out of a berserk fury.
Usefulness (Low Levels): High. The second swing makes barbarians the kings of the battlefield at low levels.
Usefulness (Mid-Levels): Moderate. The barbarian can stop and start berserking much more easily. OR and DR changes are more pronounced.
Usefulness (High Levels): Moderate. The barbarian may get more than just two swings at higher levels.
Note: My knowledge of Berserk Attack comes mainly from talking with Skurge, though I did some first-hand research on my own. Older barbarians may be able to fill in some of the blanks I have left, or confirm the 3rd swing at higher levels. If you'd like more information on the berserk skill, seek the older barbarians of Spur.
How to Practice: Fight something, get injured, go berserk, heal, and then stop going berserk. That's really the only way to practice this skill.
Tips: Remember to be prepared for the sudden fatigue drain AFTER you stop berserking. It is a good idea to carry around the "stamina vials" orks and other monsters carry; This is so that, should you be jumped by a monster after a long battle has just ended, you will be able to run away and not just have to sit there getting hit.
Unconfirmed Rumors (May or May Not Be True): You may get a third swing while berserk at 20th level (ask an older barbarian to confirm this).
